Netflix is Opening Two Theme Parks in 2025

Netflix is set to open two permanent theme park-like experiences next year. Dubbed "Netflix House," these locations will bring the magic of Netflix's popular shows and movies into a physical space.

The first two locations are set to open in 2025 in Dallas, Texas, and King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. The streaming giant already has a successful history of launching pop-up experiences based on their original series all across the globe. Netflix House will function as two year-round, fully-fledged experiences inspired by their hit shows and films.

What is Netflix House?

Interactive Experiences

Netflix House will offer fans the chance to step into the worlds of their favorite shows and movies from the streaming platform.

Interactive installations inspired by hits like "Stranger Things" and "Squid Game” are all on the docket. These experiences are designed to be more than just passive walkthroughs, engaging fans with activities and a range of interactive experiences.

Visitors can expect state-of-the-art rides similar to those in theme parks like Universal Studios and Disneyland, albeit probably not as grandiose.

Food and Merchandise

Each venue will also feature an array of themed dining options and retail spaces based on popular Netflix movies and shows. Visitors can enjoy meals inspired by Netflix originals and purchase exclusive merchandise.

For example, fans may be able to eat from Scoops Ahoy, the nautical-themed ice cream shop that Steve and Robin worked at in Stranger Things.

Events and Rotating Themes

Netflix plans to keep the experience fresh with rotating themes and events. This means that repeat visitors can look forward to new experiences and installations each time they visit.

Special events, such as cast meet-and-greets in anticipation of new season releases, and themed nights such as Halloween and Christmas events, are also expected to be part of the lineup.

Locations and Venues

Dallas, Texas: One of the first Netflix House locations will be in the Galleria Dallas shopping mall. This venue will transform part of the existing mall space into a hub of Netflix-themed shops, activities, and rides.

King of Prussia, Pennsylvania: The second location will be in King of Prussia, a suburb outside of Philadelphia. This site will serve the East Coast, providing fans in the region with a nearby destination to explore Netflix's many immersive worlds.

Why is Netflix Expanding into Physical Spaces?

As we mentioned earlier, Netflix has a wealth of experience with building physical spaces that bring their popular franchises to life. Examples include the Stranger Things Experience in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and their Knives Out dinner experience.

These temporary Netflix installations have been a huge success so it’s only logical that Netflix wants to experiment with permanent immersive venues for their film and series catalogs.

To date, Netflix has launched over 50 pop-up experiences in 25 cities around the world for fans to enjoy.

Will There Be More Netflix Houses?

That is yet to be seen. Netflix House aims to provide fans with a unique way to engage with their favorite content. If their combination of interactive experiences, themed dining, and exclusive merchandise is a success, then chances are more cities will get their own Netflix Houses.

Plus, as Netflix’s catalog grows, it’s inevitable that more and more hit shows will come about—which means more fodder for themed experiences and potentially even more interest.

Eventually, Netflix could unveil a permanent theme park to rival Disney or Universal Studios. They have toyed with the idea in the past.

As the opening dates in 2025 approach, many more details about specific attractions and events are sure to emerge.
