It was another successful conference at this year’s 2013 Digital Signage Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada. It’s hard to believe that this was the tenth annual show put on by the Digital Signage Federation, and as in years past they didn’t disappoint. As always, the world’s largest international trade show dedicated to digital signage, interactive technology and out-of-home networks hosted all the top names across our industry: Samsung, LG, NEC, Intel and Sharp were present showcasing their latest technology to a sea of attendees representing every vertical imagined.
Once again Zero-In and software partner Scala exhibited as well, proudly demonstrating our latest offerings relating to software, content and network operation services. The highlight from our camp was definitely the announcement of – and the first sneak peek at – the newest user interface, Scala Enterprise, packed with new functionalities, including HTML5 content playback and Android device support. This new release will offer a completely new user interface, enabling a user experience that is modern and efficient. An all-new set of web service APIs for integrating, controlling and extending functionality will allow for data interfaces to be developed and deployed even more easily than in the past.
It’s remarkable how much has changed in just the 12 months since last year’s conference. The industry is truly taking form, as there are more options at a lower cost than ever before, enabling applications for web-based media networks to be deployed where it would have been impossible only a few short years ago. This coming year will be an exciting one for sure!
